On the problem of computers

I have good news!  Yesterday went very well in spite of various glitches.  I got my nephew a computer from eBay for a very good price.  Now to hunt for one for myself.  I'm tossing the idea of desk top, laptop back and forth in my mind.  I have yet to figure out which would be more advantageous.  Did I spell that right?  (Yep, I checked) Anyway, I know that I can use my flat screen with a laptop and that I could get those boxes that hold bunches of extra information, (ah yes, I had to look that up...) an external hard drive.

Better news yet, I found a site called Geek.com which explains everything rather nicely in English for those of us who brain's shut down the instant the word computer is mentioned.  Have I ever told you that machines (at least the electronic kind) panic me?  They tend to have nervous breakdowns when I'm near too.  I have an "iffy" relationship with machines.

That said I absolutely have to have a working computer and Windows 7 Ultimate in order to have my Knitware program work.  I need it to knit for all my relatives, neighbors and friends.  Knitting is my all time favorite pass time.  It's one of those things that makes me genuinely happy.  It never seems like work even when there are glitches and glotches and ohmygoshes.

So, on with the day.  To seek, to find the solution to problems I don't even know I have yet. ;-)  Just call me the Irish Optimist.

Dadgum machines.....

Well, last night I took pictures to post.  They show on the camera but won't download through the card reader.  I'm totally bummed.

THEN, I tried sending a picture via email....no go there too.  I'll have to get this figured out to get this blog off the ground.

I want to discuss knitting not computer problems.  I'm about as good with those as a lumberjack would be at tatting.

Monkeying around with the font color

I really like the rose but finding a font color that allows one to read without squinting or leaning one's nose against the glass is challenging.  It would be really nice to get on with knitting.  I have *pictures*.

Well, we'll see how this new color works out.

In a daze: The first

I'm trying to get this puppy to "sit pretty", but it's a bit cumbersome.  That slash of orange right across the lovely cream colored rose isn't my idea of attractive.

I knit.  I really enjoy knitting.  I knit with two needles and 114 needles on the Brother/Knitking 260 with punch card ability and I knit with 150 needles on the LK150, (to which I hope to add a section allowing 200 needles, but that's another story).

So, this is my beginning.  Hopefully it will become an interesting read for someone, somewhere.  If not it will amuse me and help me keep order in my knitting room.
